Ride into myth, wilderness, and conservation.

The Mazingira Adventure continues into Turkey, moving from the volcanic plateaus of
Cappadocia to the rugged, sea-cut edges of the Lycian Coast. Over seven days, we hike
through sculpted valleys and ancient rock cities, descend from a 7,700-foot summit to the
Mediterranean, walk among Lycian ruins carved into cliffs, travel by boat across a sunken
city, and finish on foot along the Lycian Way - arriving by sea into the harbor town of Kaş.
This is an active, immersive continuation of the Bulgaria experience, shaped by movement
through landscape, layered history, and locally rooted hospitality

Stone, Sea, and Sacred Landscapes

The Rhodopes are not just mountains in a landscape—they are Europe’s beating heart of wild nature. Here, griffon vultures raise their young, the endangered Egyptian vulture makes its last stand, and mega-fauna reclaims the forests that once echoed with their presence.

At this crossroads of Europe and Asia, two climates merge to create a sanctuary of life found almost nowhere else on the continent. Every cliff, forest, and river valley carries a story of resilience—and a warning. Without action, these species and their native home could be lost.

Your adventure supports efforts to keep vultures soaring, ensures bears and wolves continue to roam, and empowers local communities to protect the land and habitats they call home. Together, we can safeguard this extraordinary biodiversity hotspot for generations to come.

Mazingira Conservation Works provides small grants to community groups to support their conservation efforts
